Manchester United head coach Eric Ten Hag believes that the team needs to strengthen the squad in the summer to fight for the championship:
“Can we fight for the title next season? It’s hard to talk about it now. We have to see how the transfer window goes, but I think we need more players.
We have a good basis for development, but the requirements must become higher, the standards must rise. In the summer we have to work with this squad, see if we can strengthen it.
Our squad is good for getting into the top four in this league. But if we want to fight for the title, then we need to be realistic and see what we can do after two transfer windows. Now we have a lot of work to do. We are making progress in this team with this roster, but we need better players if we want to compete for the top spots.”
