Ice Hockey World Cup. Germany advanced to the play-offs, an important victory for Slovakia
In Group A of the Ice Hockey World Championship, the decisive match was held by Germany, who easily beat the outsider France 5-0 and jumped to 4th place, ahead of Denmark.
The group determined all the participants of the quarterfinals: USA, Sweden, Finland and Germany.
In Group B, Slovakia made an important step towards the quarter-finals by beating Norway. Slovaks are in 4th place with 11 points, while Latvia is in 5th position with 11 points and a match against leader Switzerland.
If the Latvians score at least one point, they will be in the quarterfinals, but if the points are equal, Slovakia will be higher.
