Ice Hockey World Cup. Latvia sensationally beats Sweden, Canada beats Finland
The final quarter-final matches took place at the Ice Hockey World Championship.
Team Canada, after a not too bright group stage, unexpectedly calmly dealt with Finland with a score of 4:1 and advanced to the semi-finals.
But the second evening match turned out to be much more exciting, because Latvia managed to knock out Sweden! The Latvians, who jumped into the quarter-finals only at the last moment, beat one of the favorites.
Latvia with the crazy support of their stands won 3:1, having issued decisive goals in the third period. Let’s note the cool puck of Indrasis in the counterattack, as well as a goal in the majority at the end of the meeting.
Incredible Latvia advanced to the semi-finals against Canada. In the other semi-final, the USA will play Germany.
