Robert Garciaformer coach Anthony Joshua appreciated the performance of the Briton in a rematch against the holder of the WBA, WBO and IBF belts Alexander Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs).
“We had a good plan and had good chances in that fight. Yes, we could not win, but we must not forget that we fought, perhaps, with the best fighter, regardless of the weight category.
Usyk is a great fighter and it was a test for me to have the first fight with Anthony against such a boxer. We did our best. We had good moments, but we couldn’t win.
If Anthony decides to train with someone else, then I wish him the best of luck. If he wants to train with me and comes to California, that will be good. I think it will work for Joshua,” Garcia said.
