Kharkiv Berserkers announced the signing of a contract with 21-year-old Kazakh striker Georgy Obukhov. He will become the first legionnaire in the Ukrainian ice hockey championship since the beginning of the great war.
Obukhov is a pupil of the Irtysh from Pavlodar. For this team, he began to play in the youth championship of Russia in 2018. For her, but already in the adult championship of Kazakhstan, he played 4 matches in the 2022/2023 season.
George spent the lion’s share of his career in the youth team of the same Pavlodar called “Munaishi”. For her, in four championships of Kazakhstan U20, the hockey player played 130 matches, scored 33 goals and gave 35 assists.
At the beginning of the 2020/2021 season, Obukhov tried to gain a foothold in one of the leading teams in Kazakhstan – Beybaris. But, not having scored in 11 matches with effective actions, Georgy returned to Munaishi. Now Ukraine will be in his career.
It should be noted that goalkeeper Nazariy Sushak became the first newcomer of Berserkers.
