Carlo Anchelotti asked the club to replace the second goalkeeper for the next season, informs Relevo. As the season progressed, his confidence in Lunin waned, and since last summer he’s been exploring various candidates such as David Ospina or Gabriel Slonina. Then Carlo was convinced to leave Lunin in Madrid and not spend money on a new goalkeeper. But the performances of the Ukrainian at the moment when the main keeper Thibault Courtois was injured did not help the Ukrainian to prove his necessity to the coach, but on the contrary, exacerbated doubts about his figure.
Throughout the season, the coaching staff monitors several goalkeepers. On the list above everyone else is Brighton’s Robert Sanchez. In addition, three more La Liga goalkeepers are closely watched: David Soria from Getafe, Paulo Gassaniga from Girona (on loan from Fulham) and Yassin Bunu from Sevilla.

At the moment, everything depends on what Andrei Lunin himself decides. If he stays, it won’t undermine Ancelotti’s intentions to sign a new goalkeeper.
