“Mudrik is still a child, his transfer is a gamble”

Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore shared his opinion on the failures of Mikhail Mudrik at Chelsea:

“An evening at Old Trafford against Manchester United was another disappointment for Mudrik. He has amazing speed, he shows a clear desire to learn and improve, so from this point of view, he deserves the opportunity to properly adjust to the team, go on vacation, return to training and start working again next season.

The biggest problem for him is that he is trying to match the price. Spending £88.5m on a player with less than 50 appearances for Shakhtar was a big gamble. In terms of professional football, Mudrik is still a child – in fact he is a youth player who was recently promoted to the first team.

If he had gone through the Chelsea academy and endured the same six months, no one would have put that kind of pressure. But the fact that he was signed for almost £100m shows just how crazy this transfer was.”
