Not a war. IIHF once again explained why Russia misses the Ice Hockey World Cup
The President of the International Ice Hockey Federation, Luc Tardif, once again confirmed that the decision to remove the national teams of Russia and Belarus from the Ice Hockey World Cup is allegedly not political and is not related to the war in Ukraine.
This is how the IIHF takes care of the safety of the Russian and Belarusian delegations.
“All decisions taken by the IIHF are aimed at protecting the competition and the delegates of Russia and Belarus. These decisions are not political.”
“We will not allow discussions to turn into political debates,” Tardif said.
One way or another, and earlier the national teams of the aggressor countries were suspended from the World Championship in hockey of all ages until the end of 2024.
