OFFICIALLY. Iceland national team sack head coach after 7-0 win
45 year old Icelandic specialist Arnar Vidarsson resigned as head coach of the Icelandic national football team.
This is the official website of the Icelandic Football Federation:
“This is, of course, a difficult decision, but we consider it necessary and correct, focusing on the interests of the team. Arnar has done a lot of good here with the national team and deserves to be commended for his work, which is often done in difficult situations. We will now proceed directly to the search for his successor in order to begin preparations for the team’s next matches this summer.”
Interestingly, the last match the national team of Iceland won with a score of 7:0 against Liechtenstein in the 2nd round of Euro 2024 qualifiers in group J. Also in this group are the teams of Portugal, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Luxembourg.
Stjórnin metur þetta nauðsynlegt skref með hagsmuni liðsins í huga og möguleikann á að ná þeim árangri sem þarf til að koma liðinu aftur í fremstu röð.https://t.co/ShHi9Op7wX
