Preparation for WG on the French courts. The finalists of the tournament in Lyon are determined
On Friday, May 26, two semi-final matches took place at the ATP 250 series tournament in Lyon (France).
18-year-old French tennis player Arthur Fis beat Brandon Nakashima in three sets. Fiss became the first player born in 2004 to play in an ATP tournament final.
On his way, the young Frenchman beat Zhang Zhizhen, passed Mikael Ymer in a disqualification due to unsportsmanlike behavior, passed Felix Auger-Aliassime in a refusal before the match and beat Nakashima.
The finalist from the lower part of the tournament bracket was Francisco Cherundolo, seeded under the 4th number. In his semi-final match, he beat 2nd seed Cameron Norrie in two games, pinning him in the second set. For the 24-year-old Argentinean, this will be the 3rd final at the ATP level. In 2021, he lost the trophy match at the competition in Buenos Aires, and in 2022 he took the title in Båstad.
In addition to beating Norrie, Francisco also beat Juan Pablo Varillas and Jack Draper.
