Andriy Sapuga, assistant coach of Karpaty Lviv, commented on the defeat from Cherkasy LNZ (1:4) in the penultimate round match of the First League of Ukraine.
“First of all, I want to thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are now protecting us and letting us play football. Secondly, I would like to congratulate LNZ on their victory. When we conceded the first goal at the end of the first half, the advantage was already on the opponent’s side. We started to open up after the break and missed the second time.
Subsequently, we managed to win back one goal, but after that Pryimak received a second yellow card, we were left with ten men and LNZ completely took over the advantage. The red card broke our team, because after we played one ball, there was enough time to equalize and try to win this match,” Sapuha said.
After this defeat, the Lviv club de facto lost its chances of reaching the UPL.
